•            22201 Asphaltene Deposition Studies in Pipe Flow Conditions – [Chevron, ExxonMobil, OXY] Tridiagonal
Asphaltene deposition under turbulent pipe flow conditions is not well characterized, which leads to low confidence in models used for system design and development of mitigation strategies.
Testing Report, which will be used to update software models, Product asphaltene meditation of Nanoparticles at Field Scale
•            22202 Characterization of Hydrates Formed in CO2-Rich Systems – [Chevron, Petrobras] CSM Sum
There is limited data and knowledge on the characteristics of hydrates formed from CO2-rich systems (pure or nearly pure with impurities). This project aims to build upon the learnings from 20202 and focus on the nearly pure CO2-rich (CO2 with impurities) systems to obtain more data over a variety of conditions to inform how to better manage these systems for flow characteristics (during transient events) and transportability of gas hydrates.

22121 Hydrogen-Natural Gas Blends Phase Behavior for Safe Offshore Pipeline Transport of Low-Carbon Energy
Measurements and modeling of the phase equilibria behavior and moisture/water content of hydrogen-natural gas mixtures are essential to ensuring the safe transport of this low carbon fuel. (
Testing Report, which will be used to develop software models
22122 (21) Prevention and Remediation of Asphaltene Deposition and Hydrate Formation at Fields Conditions- Assessment and Modeling
The online flow assurance field monitoring application shows Hydrate/Asphaltene precipitation condition linked with real time Pressure and temperature data. It is expected to visualize the current operating condition to clogging risks. Moreover, when it connects with process simulator, operators can confirm future risks and can consider counter measures, such as choke valve control.
Testing Report, which will be used to update software models
22123 Optimization of compression performance of CCUS using process model-based control technology
The process of compressing CO2 from a gas state to a supercritical liquid state is highly advantageous for energy efficiency for reinjection. Safe and efficient carbon capture utilization & storage (CCUS) with CO2 compression requires accurate data on the phase behavior and properties of CO2 for the process model-based control system.
